Growing up in an Italian household, I have always been surrounded by wine; specifically, red wines. My grandparents love it, my parents love it, and now (naturally) I love it!
Wine is bottled poetry.
~ Robert Luis Stevenson
It was last summer when I started to realize how different so many of the red wines were and how I really good wine is to be appreciated. As I have been exploring new wines and learning what varietals I do and don’t like, I realized this was something I was passionate and wanted to learn more about as I develop my taste.
So… I signed up for the Court of Master Sommeliers Level 1 wine program and will hopefully continue on my path to Level 2 and 3. From what I’ve heard, these are no walk in the park! It’s head to the books for me as I try and learn all I can and become a true enthusiast.
As a Boston Wine School member and partner, I have tried many different red and white wines. Because it’s winter and I personally love red, I wanted to share 5 of my current favorites with you:
- The Inaugural R Collection by Raymond Vineyards Zinfandel, 2012
- Aluado Alicante Bouschet, 2016
- Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014
- Josh Cellars Pinot Noir Family Reserve, Oregon
- Valserrano Rioja Gran Reserva, 2011
If you love wine as much as me and are not (or maybe you are) a member of a wine club yet, I vouch for Boston Wine School. They have sent me one of the best selections of any other wine subscription box I have tried!
Not to mention, this is a Valentine’s Day gift I would LOVE 🍷You can choose a 1-month, 2-month, 3-month, or yearly delivery of cases from 2 to 12 (highly recommend) starting at $50 with FREE Shipping. My current subscription is a mixed monthly case of a dozen red and white wines.
