The Winter Classic is an annual event held by the NHL in various cities around the US and Canada.  The event is an outdoor hockey game between two NHL teams.  The very first Winter Classic was held in 2008 in New York between the Buffao Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Since then, the Boston Bruins have had the honor of hosting the event at two iconic New England locations, Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park.

Leading up to the BIG game on Friday afternoon is a series of smaller events.  These include the NHL Alumni Game and all activities in Spectator Plaza.  Many fans will arrive on December 31st to see their favorite old-time hockey players out on the ice against some of their rivals.

Gillette Stadium is ready to welcome thousands of New England Sports Fans Thursday and Friday.  The outdoor rink looks spectacular and it will be an event to remember.  I am looking forward to participating in the outdoor festivities as an employee.  I am thrilled to be not only a fan, but a role in all of the winter classic madness.

Stats Update: Bruins 20-12-4 | Canadiens 21-15-3
