Flirty Fridays – Teal Drop Chic

Before I introduce you to tonight’s outfit, I would like to introduce my new weekly segment Flirty Fridays! Yes, it’s your date night go-to for fashion, makeup, and hair tips.

I am here to help you get it right on the money. You will impress your date,  your friends, or anyone else you choose to spend it with and, if it doesn’t go so well, everyone else around you. Believe me, THAT outfit was not for nothing.

I call this outfit the ‘Teal Drop’ because this shirt has a beautiful back that drapes to the skirt hem in the shape of a tear drop. The color is a gorgeous shade of blue and really stands out. It is one of my absolute favorite colors because it is captivating and accentuates dark eyes and hair.

After trying on just about every shirt in my closet, there was no doubt I found the perfect match. It frames the figure perfectly and is simple enough to accessorize. This shirt was from Rue21. The tail-end is my favorite part about it.

Watch: Bulova (Similar Here) | Bracelets: Alex and Ani

My accessories are from several different places. I almost always include a watch-bracelet combination. The Bulova watch is very simple and pairs well with most outfits. The skirt actually has silver sparkles in it (very subtle), so silver pairings were the way to go.

Wearing a combination of Alex and Anis adds more fun to the look but also keeps the simplicity of it. I have a collection of both silver and gold, but rarely wear all of them at once. They always have a good selection at The Paper Store.

Because of the fancy pattern on the skirt, I opted for a simple black wristlet. Deciding which purse to bring can be a challenge, but consider where you are headed. Dates and small gatherings are good times for a wristlet or satchel. It is easy to tag along and not too bulky that you’ll get tired of carrying it.

Shoes: JustFab (Similar Here)

JustFab is my favorite shop for heels. I have quite a few pairs from my VIP showroom there and they run great deals for members. I purchased these last fall with my teal and red pairs. They no longer have the pair I have on in stock, but they have more similar styles. I hope they bring these back because they are a perfect fit and the style is just too cute!

My choker is homemade! I matched a ribbon and a bead from the dresser to create this adorable piece. I didn’t have a necklace that suited the outfit well enough, so I made one. It is a very simple yet elegant design.

Eyelashes: Ardell | Lipstick: Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Rose Femme | Eyeshadow: Mary Kay + BH Cosmetics Cool Shimmer Palette | Foundation: Revlon Airbrush Effect | Mascara: Estee Lauder

I just purchased the Milani Rose Femme lipstick a few days back. This is the first time I’ve worn it and I am obsessed! It is a very subtle purple that is just enough with this outfit. I would suggest pairing either a coral or plum (as pictured) with this bold outfit. A little does go a long way when it comes to lipstick outfit pairings.

Ardell Lashes are my favorite! I always purchase Ardell when I have the option. Most drug stores sell them or you can purchase online. Buying more than one package when they are on sale is a good deal for your wallet. I see them at Walgreens and CVS often.

For eyeshadow I typically use the BHCosmetics 88 Color Cool Shimmer Palette in combination with my NARS white crayon, Revlon Black liner, and a cream eyeshadow base (in this case, Mary Kay). The Mary Kay Cream Shadows are working great for me – I highly suggest trying them. I add layers of eyeshadow over to create a more smokey look.

I will be putting this lovely color away soon to make room for fall shades. It is one of my top choices for Spring and Summer. Look out for an upcoming blog post ‘Shades for Fall’ where I’ll explain how I decide on my fall wardrobe hues.

This outfit style is always a great option for your Flirty Fridays!

Take the room by storm tonight (or in the office today if you’d like – I would)
