One of the accessories I have always wanted to wear but never knew how is the beret. The adorable accessory that leaves us all dreaming of Paris and our favorite French icons. I decided it was about time that I just did it (because why not) and I want you to do it too because these are so darn cute! You don’t even realize how soft and comfy the one I’m wearing is until you have it on.
Okay, it’s time… HOW TO STYLE A BERET 101 🇫🇷
My inspiration for this look was the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where you can find inspiration all around. It opens your eyes to the incredible art those around us are capable of creating and what those in the past have inspired. Anywhere that always for freedom of artistic expression is sure to welcome the infamous beret!
The most important tips for putting the beret on, from my experience, include 1) not putting the beret directly on the top of your head and 2) not fluffing it up so it looks like a chef’s hat (no, really). I placed the beret towards the back of my head and pulled it down just enough so it felt secure. I then pulled the hair around to where I wanted it and adjusted. You can throw a few bobby pins in for extra security if you have thick hair.
Play around with the beret until it is sitting where you want it. I changed this depending on the angle I was taking my photos from. I liked it post pulled entirely towards one side and lying straight back. The cool thing about this beret is that is is reversible so you can wear it in all black or black & gray (how I have it). I might order the red next ♥️
