We were hosted complimentary by The Hotel Portsmouth during our stay.
On September 23 I turned 23 and I had no intention of having a big celebration. Instead, my wonderful family planned to have one for me (love them). What I wanted was to get away for the weekend with the love and enjoy relaxation and good food.
The Hotel Portsmouth opened it’s historic doors for us to explore. This hotel is the definition of timeless. In fact, behind those big wooden doors is the story of a 135 year old historic mansion (c. 1881). The hotel management has made most of the building appear modern with tributes and touches to it’s age-old roots. It is a very cool setting to be in.
There is parking available in back for hotel guests that is easy to pull in and out of. We walked into the back door where there was a sweet garden/patio to relax in. Upon entrance, you are immediately caught by The Hotel Portsmouth‘s attention to detail.
I love hotels that are a bit more quaint and relaxed. The Hotel Portsmouth hits many of my ‘must-have’ points for the perfect weekend getaway. Our room really felt like home. It was so cozy and welcoming in it’s presence. Plus, there was an amazing mirror for all the mirror pics 😉
Downtown Portsmouth is a short walk away; especially when the weather is as nice as it was during our visit. Walking definitely gives you the chance to take in more of your surroundings. Portsmouth is full of historic tributes and photo opportunities you don’t want to miss.

The complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious. They had so many options to choose from that catered to every palate. My favorites were the melon balls, fresh coffee, and steel-cut oats. There are plenty of spots to sit or you could bring your plate back upstairs ☕️
