Seeing a movie is perfect for girls night out; especially with ShowPlace ICON at Seaport. The Seaport area is one of my favorites in Boston because there are so many places to go and things to see. You really can make a full day out of exploring the area before and/or after your movie at ShowPlace ICON at Seaport.
They stand out from all other theaters in the area in terms of the location itself and the service. Not to mention, it is so nice inside. The decor is spot-on and the theater has a luxury feel. I felt a little like a celeb myself… until it was Lady Gaga on the screen and not us 😉
We went to see A Star is Born and it was amazing! I had heard so many incredible reviews on this movie and it did not disappoint. The ICON-X movie going experience with Dolby Atmos sound and 4K Laser Projection made the music sound phenomenal 🎵 I was so happy they were still showing it in theaters when we went last week.

I love that the chairs reclined and were heated because you could get really comfortable during your show. You chose your seats ahead of time too so you didn’t have to worry about missing out on a good view.
The best part? They let you bring food and drinks (yep! alcohol too) into the theater with you. We loaded up on popcorn, candy, and drinks so we wouldn’t have to leave during the movie.
Girls night out isn’t complete without dinner & drinks so we hit up the Lobby Lounge before our show to feast and toast to a fantastic night! Our favorite drinks were their signature cocktails ‘London Lemonade’ and ‘The Showcase’ 🍹 They were fruity, boozy, and delicious.
All of the food was yummy too. The menu had just the right number of options so you weren’t overwhelmed and everything was packed with flavor.
Must-try menu items:
- Perogies
- Chicken Wings, Asian Bang & Honey Mustard
- Caprese Flatbread
- Black n Blue Salad
Don’t forget the popcorn! It wouldn’t be a movie unless you grabbed a bag of freshly popped popcorn. I got traditional butter before I realized they had so many other amazing flavors on the board. Next time I will most definitely be trying a few different flavors to pair with my sweets.
Every Tuesday is $5 Tuesday for all films reserved on the ShowPlace ICON website or app. If you reserve in person it is $6 all day Tuesday. Extras Members, through their free membership program, will also get a free small popcorn when reserving online or in-app on Tuesdays 🍿 To make it even sweeter, the Lobby Lounge offers $2 Appetizers all day Tuesday when you dine-in.
