This post was created in partnership with Café Bustelo to promote their El Café del Futuro Scholarship.
Hey, scholars! 📚 I’ve teamed up with Café Bustelo to share an exciting opportunity with you.
2019 will mark the sixth El Café del Futuro Scholarship: an award available through the brand’s partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).
Going Big
This year Café Bustelo has really upped the ante by awarding a total of $100,000 to 20 students.
If you are (or know someone) of Latino descent, you can submit an essay in either English or Spanish that speaks to the following:
- How your heritage, family, and community have motivated you to pursue a degree
- How you give back to the community
- What you intend to accomplish with your degree post-graduation.
A Work of Art
I was excited to receive Café Bustelo’s limited edition art tin in the mail this month so I could get a better look at the artwork. It is a unique design that really showcases the brand’s support of the arts and Latin roots.
The tins were created with four artists as part of their Artist Series, with a percentage of sales going toward the scholarship fund. You can grab your own at most any grocery store nationwide, while supplies last.
Advice for Students
If I could give a piece of advice to college students, I would tell them to not give up on applying to scholarships. I applied to so many scholarships in high school but stopped when I was finally in school.
The craziest part? I didn’t know any fellow students who were taking the time to apply to scholarships either. But, they can make a HUGE difference!
Graduating with mounds of student loan debt doesn’t sound fun, right? I can certainly (and unfortunately) attest to that 🤷🏻 Even the smallest scholarships can add up so think about what winning the El Café del Futuro Scholarship could do for you.
Giving Back
As most of you know, I love my coffee; Café Bustelo being my all-time favorite. Their dedication to supporting students makes me feel happy and proud to be a consumer. There is nothing like supporting a brand that gives back to their community.
The scholarship maintains Café Bustelo founder, Gregorio Bustelo’s passion and tradition of reinvesting in local communities and celebrating Latino cultural values.
