When it comes to unique and old school hotels Mount View Hotel & Spa takes the cake. To put it in perspective… they gave us a physical key to open our bedroom door – it was very cool.
Their decoration, offerings, and overall ‘vibe’ were unlike any I had ever experienced before. If you love all things vintage, nostalgic, and antique then you would love staying at Mount View. Not to mention, they donate 50% of their profits to local and world charities.
The Stay at Mount View
Mount View is nestled in the heart of Calistoga. The town is so cute, quaint, and truly old-fashioned. Looking around at the Victorian architecture, you will find yourself in awe. For you history buffs, the charm of this town will keep you intrigued. It is so much more than wine:
In fact, its historic roots are so intact that the National Trust for Historic Preservation named Calistoga a “Distinctive Destination”.

The men and women working up front were so friendly and helpful. I was thankful for their effort carrying our luggage upstairs (there are no elevators here) and for providing us with insights on where we should go, what we should see, etc.
Our bedroom and bathroom were smaller than what we are used to but there was still plenty of room for us to move about freely. Contrary to the white-out rooms our society has become so accustomed to, the decor was colorful with a classic flair.

Verations, the restaurant downstairs, was delectable. We had an amazing experience being hosted there and cannot say enough good things. Look out for the blog post on them soon!
