When it comes to the kitchen, I am always up to try something new. I love to find products for pairing, dipping and mixing. We decided to whip together bacon-wrapped scallops this weekend with a creole twist. This was a flavor combination I haven’t really seen before but that was intriguing. It was a great way to use our new Creole Kicker Sprd.
The spice in the Creole Kicker Sprd was a great complement to the smokey flavor of the bacon. The vibrant flavor really stands out when accompanying more subtle flavors and ingredients. You can use the Creole Kicker Sprd as a recipe ingredient too but we decided to go for the traditional dip. We spooned some into a small dish and served it up with our mouthwatering bacon-wrapped scallops (always a favorite).
The Creole Kicker is a Non-GMO SPRD containing Creole mustard and 8 of Kitchen Crafted’s signature herbs and spices. Deemed a ‘New Orleans style’ SPRD, this condiment & dip pairs perfectly with seafood.
Creole Kicker Bacon-Wrapped Scallops:
- Fresh Sea Scallops
- Hickory Smoked Bacon
- Sea Salt & Pepper
- Creole Kicker SPRD
- Toothpicks
You can purchase bacon-wrapped scallops frozen or make your own. With less than five ingredients they are super easy to put together. You can drizzle some oil over them before baking for an extra crisp. If you wanted to really get fancy then you can season the bacon beforehand or choose a flavor for your pairing. These are a real crowd pleaser!
I have recently become familiar with the Kitchen Crafted Sprd and wanted to test them out before sharing with all of you. New sauces, dressings, and spices are always fun to experiment with and these fell into that bucket. We decided to whip up some bites using their Creole Kicker Sprd and the Marinara Mia, both very tasty. They also have Whatta Wasabi and Getcha Sriracha which I cannot wait to try!
You can find all of the Kitchen Crafted products at Shaw’s Markets where they are currently running a BOGO promotion from now through February 20th. It’s your opportunity to try two for the price of one. If you can’t make it to the store don’t fret. You can order a 2-Pack on their website HERE.
What are some of your favorite flavor notes?
