Decorating with Desenio | How We Styled Our Kitchen and Bar Cart

This post was created in partnership with Desenio.

If you have been following me for a while then you know Paul and I love food. Our wedding registry was packed with kitchen, bar, and dining items… I swear there’s never enough! So, when we moved into our new house, I knew I wanted the decor to reflect our love for food and beverages.

My aesthetic is muted tones with black hardware and pops of white. All of our lights have a matte black finish with Edison bulbs for a vintage feel. Something about the vintage vibe just feels right in our 1950s home. I have always loved patents and blueprints which is how I stumbled upon our new posters from Desenio.

The Kitchen

We will be sharing our full kitchen remodel (it’s a crazy transition!) once the doors and handles are replaced but it’s so close to being finished. I decided to paint the walls a soft sage and I am obsessed with the natural color. I love greens in the kitchen and it pairs perfectly with black and white. When I saw the Desenio ‘Beef Chart’ and ‘Coffee Type’ posters, I was sold. They are right in line with the design I was going for and reflect two of our favorite things: meat and coffee.

To really bring out the natural feeling in this space, I also added a dried bunch of flowers and herbs from our local farmstand. I have always loved the look of these and was so excited to finally hang one in our space! With the AeroGarden and the Desenio prints, it looks like it truly belongs hanging in our redesigned kitchen.

The Bar Cart

I struggled selecting a poster to hang above our bar cart because of Paco (the big buck) taking up half of the space. Yes – he is real. Paul is a hunter and this was one of the first large bucks he got. We have had him in our space since we moved into our apartment two years ago. Though adjusting to taxidermy took time, I really don’t mind him at all.

When you live with a hunter, it’s all about balance.

Instead of forcing multiple prints, I went with one option that paired perfectly with our wine fridge. The ‘Wine Guide’ poster shows nine wine varietals with their key characteristics and tasting notes, exactly what a wine lover wants to see.

Desenio Details

To pick up the black light fixtures and handles on the cabinets, we ordered the Black Picture Frame. At only $35, these are worth every penny. They fit the prints to a T and look great hanging up on the wall. The quality definitely seems higher than the price point.

Desenio has art prints, posters, and frames in sizes to fit pretty much any space. We ordered the 11 ¾” X 15 ¾” for all of our prints as that is what fit our spaces best. You can also order a variety of sizes and put together your own gallery wall for a one-of-kind design. They show many examples of how you can do this on their website.

Whether your style is artsy or geometric, there are posters and prints in designs to suit all styles. We will be hanging more prints in our guest room and office so look out for those soon.
